REGIONAL HORSE SHOW RULES

begin on page 14 of the NRCHA rulebook, and are copied below:
4.1 As of January 1, 2003, all NRCHA approved shows will be called NRCHA Shows.
4.2 Regions will be:
Southwest: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Mexico
Northwest: Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Alaska, and Canadian Provinces: Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories.
South Central: Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas
North Central: Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Canadian Provinces: Manitoba, Nunavut.
Eastern: Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont and Canadian Provinces: Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland.
International: Foreign countries other than Canada
4.3 The top ten horses in each of the eleven approved NRCHA classes from each region will qualify for the NRCHA World Championship Show. Show year begins January 1 and ends December 31 of each year.
4.4 A rider may qualify any number of horses for the NRCHA World Championship Show.
4.5 Horses in open classes may be shown by more than one rider or the rider may be changed, as long as all riders fit the earnings criteria for the class.
4.6 In Non Pro classes, horse and rider qualify together.
4.7 Horses or riders may appear in the standings of more than one region.
4.8 If any of the top ten horses in the standings choose not to enter the finals, then horses placing behind it move up and another horse will move into the top ten to be allowed to show in the finals.
4.9 A horse must compete in at least three NRCHA approved shows in a region to be eligible to enter the finals.
4.10 Regional standings and winners will be named at the end of the regular season, before the NRCHA World Championship Show.
4.11 Points from the NRCHA World Championship Show will count toward National (year-end) Championship and points from the finals will be counted by the same formula as other shows.
4.12 A horse does not have to compete at the finals to qualify for Regional or National (Year-end) awards.
4.13 Hackamore horses may show at the finals as 6-year-olds as they qualified during their 5-year-old year. Also, a hackamore horse may have been shown in the bridle or two-rein after January 1 for this show only.
4.14 Champions of each region will be Regional Champions.

Champions of the NRCHA World Championship Show will be World Champions
(Example: 2003 NRCHA Open Bridle World Champion)
Year end Champions will be National Champions.

At the world show, in Stephenville, Texas in February, there will be one go and a finals. |
